"Board" MeetingsEveryone is welcome to these. The summer started with several: First was at the Coco Bar in Treasure Cay on May 28. Then two on May 30, Yahoes at lunch and Sapodilly's at the End of the day. Stay Tuned, more to come. The Lighthouse at Hopetown and the end of the Tiki Hut

Please feel free to post it in the Scrapbook. Jeanette - ThePalagis@aol.comEric Palmer's pictures from July '99
" In July of 1999 we traveled to the Abacos for the first time. There was my lovely Wife Betty, our two kids Jackie and Alison and my Father and his wife Shirley. We stayed at the Big House on Lubbers and had a great time. Enjoy the pictures.Crystal Berry's April PhotographsEric F. Palmer efp@mindspring.com - home epalmer@pcboat.com - work
Read Crystal's Trip Report, Part 1. and Part 2. "I've enjoyed your board and learned so much from all the members. I hope you all enjoy these pictures. I've got the "Barefoot Man" on the CD player as I send these to you. I'd mix a Goombay Smash but it is only 8:30AM. I'm sure from these pictures you can tell what a great family vacation we experienced. We escaped to Abaco April 16th - 22nd. We can't go back next year but will be back April 2002. Hope you enjoy these pics., feel the tropical breeze, enjoy the sunshine, and have sand between your toes. - Crystal Berry"Gary snail-mailed these months ago and then I've been slow getting them loaded but they are worth the wait. Thanks Gary.Eva Hill gave us a fine trip report on their sailing charter on Abaco, here are the pictures."Just follow the Abaco link at the top of the page. Several of the rolls that are out there are VERY rough scans, so please forgive any streaking, dust spots, etc.
Cheers! - Jase"We're updating some of the photos on the Abaco Inn website. Here are a few of the unedited "proofs " that you might enjoy. As you can see, the reports of the demise of the Abaco Inn were greatly exagerated."here's some pics from our trip last summer.
Billy Patterson""Sending some recent photos of abaco for your scrapbook
Keep up the great work.
Ed Buxton"Building Blue Coral Landing on Guana Cay
"Here are some brand new photos (2/15-2/25) of our brand new house (Blue Coral Landing) on Guana Cay. It was an interesting task getting it completed (with Floyd & everything) But with the help of the wonderful people on Guana and Dolphin Beach Resort it happened. We are hidden in a wooded area right by the first dock past Guana Beach Resort on Fisher's Bay. The Island was doing great and Guana Beach Resort was being rebuilt. Looking forward to raising a Kalik with everyone. We had some terrific rainbows. It's gooder on Guana.

"Here are a few pictures we took last summer. Tahiti Beach, Turtle Hill Villas beach on Elbow, Nippers, etc."Willy Landham and Flyfishing for Barracuda

Meakin Hoffer of Sandy Bottoms on Lubbers Quarters sent over this picture to be featured on their web site. Could this be one of those cases of digtal image manipulation?

Margie K's Photos...
Margie has posted a fine set of pictures from their vacation last summer. You can read her comments from her posting to our message board

Pictures from Sandy Point and "An Odyssey of Caring"
If you have followed the Abaco Message Board you read the wonderful series of reports by Sandra Irish in Texas about her getting her class in school involved in helping the Pinder School in Sandy Point at the remote south west corner of Abaco. Over 2,000 books for Abaco resulted from these efforts and a chain of volunteers took care of the job of getting the books to Sandy Point Here are some more pictures on the collection, transportation, and delivery of those books to Abaco.
I'll have Sandra's comments to post with the pictures as soon as I quit traveling and have some time but Click Here for the Index
More from Sandra and also from the Flying Dogs.
These continue the theme of the rebuilding everywhere to even better than before the late unpleasantries. For the link to Sandra's page Click Here.
The Flying Dogs show a bit of the new Abaco Inn, and some shots from Guana and "Unsinkable Frank" of Some R Magic. Click Here
Sandra Taylor's Green Turtle Pictures
Sandra has posted her pictures for me on a site I hadn't seen before and then sent us an invitation to take a look. Thank you Sandra.
Christmas/New Years from AbaGoGo
AbaGoGo wrote a wonderful, 8-part trip report on our Abaco Board about her visit to Lubbers between the Christmases that included an account of what must have been an extraordinary dinner and flute recital at Yahoe's. Here are the pictures
Mary sent us these contact sheets to scan for updating Brendal's web pages. We can't use them all there, but she agreed to share them with us here.
Elbow Cay, Hopetown and Boatbuilding
I am forwarding a site to you that we have photos of our recent trip to the islands (November 99) The panorama view of the Hopetown beach is rather awesome. It is taken on the beach right behind St. James Methodist Church. Also very interesting is the the shot of Winer Malone, his recent boat and his trash. If you look closely at the trash you can see wood shavings. Not chips or dust. Shavings that one would find from a real artisan woodworker. This was our clue that we were close to finding Mr. Malone. I Hope these can be of use to the 'board'.Thanks to Bruce and Dawn BensonSincerely,
Bunky Wichmann
Charleston"My husband and I came down for Junkanoo. I took some images of Junkanoo at GTC and of the recovery effort of Green Turtle Club and Marina. Thought that you might be interested in them for the scrapbook.Besides just the fun here, note two things:Happy New Year!
Bruce and Dawn Benson"1. The beautiful weather. We are often blessed with great weather "Between the Christmases", this year was even better than usual, and more appreciated!
2. The Renovations. The rebuiding of the Green Turtle Club has improved on an already fine facility. This is not unique to the Green Turtle Club. You will find this all over Abaco, from cottages, to condos, to the resorts. Everyone is rebuilding to a higher standard.

I am attaching a picture of the 12 lb. Bonefish I recently caught on my flyrod at your Guana Seaside Village. Sorry I look so much like a tired fisherman, but that is what I was. This fish is the largest bone fish I have ever seen alive. Again thanks for providing a really great vacation for me and my wife.

A picture of our dinner. We went fishing with Capr. Robert Lowe, paid for the charter and then had dinner at the Hopetown Harbour Lodge that evening. I told my wife that the dolphin looked good, I think I'll have that. When we asked the chef where the fish came from he said they just bought some nice dolphin from Capt. Lowe. Well, it seems that we paid for the fish twice that day.

From the Beula Lee, Regatta Time in Abaco (Elizabeth)
This was me, with my team (Beula Lee) and the team / friends from La Loba, holding my first place trophy at Green Turtle. As you can see, we were really happy! The crew I had was composed of 2 Freds I found at Sappodilly's the day before, and Betty Brown, a friend's mother...my secret weapon!Hope Town Harbour (Marianne)Someone...who shall remain anonymous, painted Eddie's toes at Sappodilly's near the end of race week. Eddie was passed out and would not wake up! The next day he was teased about his green toe nails and fingernails and just said he enjoyed the fashion statement! Eddie was crew on Detente, a soverel 26.
Photo of the Three Ducklings ...I was towing a Farr 44 (Frank Brown on Phoenix) and a Soverel 26 (La Loba owned by Jennifer Brown, piloted by Frank Brown , Sr and Betty Brown)
Just saw the scrapbook and had to put in my two cents worth or is it 35mm, anyway, it just so happens that I use the attached picture of HT as wallpaper on my computer. So I hurried up and converted it and here it is. I took the picture a few years back from in front of the Hope Town Harbour Lodge, looking towards the Lighthouse of course. Hope you can use it. It's kind of hard to take a bad picture in HT, it seems that there is beauty all around.
