TOURIST OFFICE UPDATE

Virginia Bocharding from Heartleand Travel based in Waterloo, Illinois, visited Abaco 19th-21st July on a BTI familiarisation trip. Mrs Bocharding was able to visit and experience Green Turtle Cay, Treasure Cay, Guana Cay and Marsh Harbour. She was accompanied by her daughter Christine, who did some diving during her stay on Abaco.

A team from Cinema Bettencourt, a commercial production company based out of Florida, was on Abaco 22nd July to film a commercial for Kawasaki Jet Skis. The group stayed at Treasure Cay Hotel and the shoot took place in waters around Abaco.

KZ Associates Inc, a Pasadena-based production management company that researches and makes filming arrangements for Japanese television networks and production companies, were on Abaco 28th-30th July. They were hired by NEXUS Inc of Japan who are presently working on a summer TV special titled The Flow of Life - Ocean and Humans which will be aired 29th August on Nippon Television Network. The summer TV special will focus on dolphins. While on Abaco they interviewed Diane Claridge-Balcomb of Bahamas Marine Mammal Survey Team and filmed around Hole in the Wall lighthouse and the Sandy Point area.
