COMMUNICATIONS...
Dear Editor,
I am going to miss Leslie Pinder. I'm going to miss his quick smile and his "Mister
Joe, how are you today?"
The area of the Hub of Abaco is going to miss the hard working, dedicated, no-nonsense
builder who had the gift of being able to visualise the finished construction and
all phases from start to finish, and the talent to assign work to his men so each
man could do his individual task and all end up on the same page at the same time. A truly
unique talent.
Leslie's family and friends will miss the loving, caring and generous man they all
loved and respected. My Labrador retriever, Blondie, will miss Leslie's visits. Blondie
likes everyone but she adored Leslie and felt that his visits were for her benefit
and she furiously wagged her tail to so indicate.
But I will miss Leslie most for that smile, that chuckle and his greeting: "Mister
Joe, how are you today?"
Joe Kern,
Sugar Loaf Cay.
Dear Editor,
Great issue. Love your take on snakes. I am not a lover of wriggly things,
but Abaco Boas really help keep the rodent population in check and, as you
say, do no harm. Too many people kill them just because they are there.
What a surprise.... didn't expect so much response to my open letter to Mr.
Meister. I am delighted, but would still like to see the old hotel area
cleaned up. It's a health hazard, even if some don't see it as an eyesore.
Keep up the good work.
Marilyn Irr.
Dear Editor,
I wish to take this opportunity to inform you that as of 9th August I will be returning
to Grand Bahama.
I wish to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation for your assistance and contribution
given me during my tenure in the Abaco Tourist Office. It is through your help that
we were able to accomplish those objectives set out by the Abaco Tourist Office.
I am sure you will provide my successor with the same support afforded me. I also
wish to inform you at this time that due to budgetary constraints, effectively immediately,
Goombay Summer Festival will no longer continue.
Again thank you and I am confident that the Abaco Tourist Office will continue to
lend its usual support.
Sherry Parker,
Sr Representative.
