ABACO TOURIST OFFICE UPDATE

There is no update this month as I was on vacation. I also attended the Bahamahost 20th Anniversary Celebration at the Radisson Cable Beach Hotel from 7th-9th October. The theme of the conference was Building a World Class Nation - "Maximizing Our Potential".

The keynote address at the opening ceremony was given by Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham and a programme of workshops followed over the next three days. They covered general topics such as Creating Synergy Through Diversity, Sustainable Tourism Development, The 21st Century - What To Expect In Technology And Information, and The Challenge - Where Do We Go From Here? There were also workshops designed to focus and improve the performance of Ministry personnel and advance their careers.

Seven delegates attended the conference from Abaco: Gwen Carey, Ephraim Bullard, Donna Bain, Valeria Lightbourne, Elsie Adderley, Yvonne Bain and myself. We were all inspired and enriched by the experience.
