18th ANNUAL TREASURE CAY INTERNATIONAL BILLFISH TOURNAMENT

Treasure Cay Hotel Resort & Marina will hold its 18th Annual International Billfish Tournament from 17th-22nd June. A qualifier for IGFA's International Tournament of Champions, this modified release tournament offer four days of fishing, social parties, dinners, fun competitions, a golf tournament, a volleyball tournament and a Bahamian arts & crafts fair on the Lay Day. Multiple awards are given for billfish. There are also awards for tuna, dolphin and wahoo.

Registration, which includes boat entry, four dinners and three cocktail parties for up to six team members, team goody bag with T-shirts and hats, room discounts and a donation to the IGFA, is $1,500 per team.

The TCIBT is renowned for its great food and camaraderie, with social events families can enjoy. It is a fund raiser for the Treasure Cay Primary School and IGFA Junior Angler Program. An average of 275 anglers and guests attend each tournament, from many states in the US as well as from foreign countries.

Information and photos from the 2000 event, won by Buc Autrey and the Bet-A-Buck team, St Augustine, FL, for two consecutive years, are available on www.treasurecayfishing.com. The trips are conducted by a native Bahamian bonefishing guide through famous bonefishing flats, the Marls of Abaco.
