TOURIST OFFICE UPDATE

The Abaco Tourist Office Annual Goombay Summer festival began Friday 8th May at the Regatta site, Treasure Cay. Despite the inclement weather several hundred visitors and locals attended. Wynsome Ferguson of the Abaco Tourist Office gave brief remarks followed by entertainment by the Limbo King, Supreme Dancers, Gully Roosters, Nita Ellis and Spice.

The editor and graphic designer of Fish & Fly Magazine visited Different of Abaco 29th May - 1st June. They were able to experience bonefishing with a few of our local guides. The group was accompanied by Benjamin Pratt of the Special Markets Department, Ministry of Tourism, and were hosted to dinner on 29th May by Nettica Symonette. Wynsome Ferguson and Don Cornish of the Abaco Tourist Office were in attendance.

Bernie Hogya and David Holloway of Bozell's Creative Team were in Abaco 1st - 2nd June. They were given a tour of Marsh Harbour and Hope Town and were assisted by Wynsome Ferguson of the Abaco Tourist Office.

Five tour operators of Canusa, one of the largest tour operators in Germany, were in Abaco 2nd - 4th June on a familiarisation trip. While in Abaco they had the opportunity to visit hotels and attractions in Treasure Cay, Green Turtle Cay, Marsh Harbour and Hope Town. The group was accompanied by Karen Forbes of BTO Germany and Donnajeane Turnquest of the Bahamas Out Island Promotion Board and was assisted by Wynsome Ferguson of the Abaco Tourist Office.
