TROPICAL
FRUIT & GARDEN SOCIETY OF ABACO
After a year of inactivity following
the ravages of Hurricane Floyd, the Tropical Fruit and Garden Society of Abaco
held its first meeting of the 2000-1 season on 2nd December at the residence of
Jack and Valerie Hardy on Forest Drive. The subject of discussion was the
effects of Floyd on the various members' gardens. At the meeting the appointment
of Shirley Higgs as president of the Society was confirmed.
The next
scheduled meeting will be held at the Anglican Parish Hall, Marsh Harbour, at 7
pm on 11th January. The speaker will be Lynn Gape of the Bahamas National Trust
and the subject will be Birds and Butterflies in the
Garden.
