NASSAU GRAND OPENING OF BELLEVUE BUSINESS DEPOT

Nassauvians can now enjoy the wide variety and "depot style" everyday guaranteed low pricing they used to travel to Miami to find as Bellevue Business Depot and United Bookshops open in the Palmdale Shopping Plaza, according to BBD President Robert Osborne. Hundreds attended the gala event on 9th November 2000, including Mr Tomoy Horaguchi, Canon Latin American General Manage - Office Equipment Group, and Mr James Mercer, CLA Account Executive - Office Equipment Group. The ribbon was cut by Letisia Smith, daughter of BBD staff member Sophia Stacey-Smith.

The bright 15,000 square feet store combines the space used by United Bookshops and Business Depot in the Palmdale Plaza and was renovated at a cost in excess of $1 million, finished in just three months by Britannia Construction. Mr Osborne said at the champagne opening: "What you see around you is a dream come true, not just for my family, but also for shoppers who no longer will have to travel to Florida to find the selection, quality and prices they need to survive in business today."

Robert Osborne's parents Ron and Jean Osborne began Bellevue Business 1963. It became part of Abaco Markets Ltd and expanded to Marsh Harbour in 1997, and bought United Bookshops in 1999, becoming the largest family business supply company in the nation. "I want to thank Abaco Markets for the resources and the freedom to make these dreams possible and real for all of us," Mr Osborne said. "Abaco Markets has become an excellent capital partner that has created an environment in which all of us entrepreneurs can continue to grow."
