AID FOR CROSSING ROCKS RESIDENTS
The
Bahamas Hotel Association donated several cheques to senior citizens in the
Crossing Rocks community who suffered great losses during the devastation of
Hurricane Floyd last year.
Making the presentation on behalf of the
Association was president Dion Strachan. The donation followed a request from
Nettica Symonette of Different of Abaco, Casuarina Point, who is president of
the Bahamas Out Island Promotion Board and a director of the BHA.
Those
to receive aid include Muriel Russell, Doris Russell, Charles Carroll, Israel
Williams, Alease McKinney, Francena Russell, Samuel Davis, Effie Walker,
Clarence Burrows and Minvella Walker. Cheques were assigned to Lowes Pharmacy in
Marsh Harbour for the purchase of household appliances to help the residents
achieve a smooth transition as they start afresh in their new homes built by the
Bahamas government.
