COMMUNITY LEADER INJURED
Community leader Drexel Major of Dundas Town and his uncle, Edward Pratt, were both injured when the vehicle they were travelling in hit a tree near Coopers Town on the evening of 19th January. The two were flown out on an emergency flight from Treasure Cay to Doctors Hospital in Nassau. Mr Major suffered a dislocated hip and damage to his knees and neck but there were no broken bones. A week after the operation Mr Major was operated on following heart failure.
The major damage to the vehicle occurred on the driver's side. It is speculated that the accident was caused by a steering mechanism failure.
Drexel Major is the current president of the Rotary Club of Abaco, the District Commissioner for Scouting and general manager of Abaco Water Ltd.
