ROYAL PALM FRONDS
by Betsy Bracey

A change of seasons is usually viewed as stimulating, invigorating and
healthy. For those who live on Abaco this is OK as it's a time to change
wardrobes and activities, which is enjoyable. For those who flee from snow hoping to find a warm beach, perhaps this weather has been disappointing. Many forget that we are on the West Palm Beach latitude which is not tropical and so we do have a winter season.

Royal Palm residents have arrived, although not in great numbers. Mike and Jill Rohan, Kathy and James McAllister, Lorna and Bill Firstbrook were here and the Firstbrooks were joined by Mrs Firstbrook Sr who sold her home in Mexico and will be staying with Lorna and Bill in 2301. We welcome her and hope she will be happy with us.

Diane Gerlach escaped the freeze in Pittsburgh to spend a couple of weeks
with us. Nan and George Gregory arrived in time for a New Year's Eve party
and Joyce Turpin's granddaughter, Nina, is in from England to spend a few
months with her 'Gran'. Jorge and Consuelo Latour were here for the
holiday season along with Marco Perez.

Claudia and Peppino Campi are in residence along with Francesca, Maria
Gratzia and son Agostino and his family, Flavia and young Mattia. Flavia's
mother, Silvana came over from Tuscany to join in the family holiday
celebrations.

We've seen Stewart Carrell from a distance and visited with Erica Parker and son Tim. MaryLu and Bill Nielsen joined with Woody and myself for Christmas dinner and we had an enjoyable catch up on our respective family news during the evening. We hope that all of our Royal Palm owners also had a happy holiday season and we look forward to welcoming more owners during the early days of 2001.
