The month of March came in like a lamb this year. Sunny skies, light winds and fairly smooth waters greeted us as we awakened. Royal Palm continues to look beautiful. Frangipani trees are beginning to leaf and there are buds on the hibiscus. Any day now we'll be in bloom. Directors Jerry Hill, Bill Draper, Diane Gerlach and Hagen Peters are on site. James and Kathy McAllister returned, as did Virginia and Harry Peterson. Bud Camferdam has arrived. This may be one of our last visits with Bud as he and Nan have decided to sell. The last "Hurrah" for Bud was a wonderful neighbourhood dinner party hosted by Richard Actis-Grande. Bus was toasted, roasted and given a rousing farewell. Nan and Bud are one of the few original owners still living in Royal Palm and they will be sorely missed by everyone.
We are grieved to report that Nan & George Gregory lost their eldest son, Greg. He is survived by his wife, Pam and daughter, Molly Anne as well as brother, Stephen, and sisters Laura Coggins and Judy White. Greg was well known in the sailing world having participated in the 2000 America's Cup with the United States Team Stars and Stripes, in the New Zealand campaign. He was recognised as Etchell's "Sailor of the Year" in 2001 by the prestigious San Diego Yacht Club. Memorial services were held in San Diego as well as in Vermilion, Ohio. We extend our deepest sympathy to Nan and George and all of the family.
