Bring a Tool--Construction for Education

So many of you are coming to Abaco in the next few months. Would you bring a tool to donate to Every Child Counts' Construction for Education project. We need everything: hammers, saws, screw drivers, planes, wrenches, shovels, levels, screws/nails, putty knive, paint brush, etc.

This project has involved secondary students in repairing, rebuilding Floyd-damaged homes, buildings, schools across Abaco as a way of learning, also, academic subjects (science, social studies, mathematics, etc.). The students will be apprenticed to local artisans so they will be learning life skills in construction, plumbing, electricity, etc. Rotary is assisting with this project by facilitating placements with the best artisans in the area.

Would you help by donating a tool (new or good-condition used) to St. Francis de Sales School so the student apprentice will have his/her own equipment? (NOTE: St. Francis is about 3 miles from the MH airport.)

Thanks for your help!

Sharon Kossack,
FIU professor and stateside coordinator of Abaco's Every Child Counts project
