There have been many posts in the past few months about the Many Faces of this Message Board/Bored. IMHO- these are just a few! The Invaluable- A LIFELINE in the days immediately following the Wrath of Floyd. For so many folks it was the only communication in/out of Abaco. Still is, look at posts about the telephone service and the requests from folks still needing help. Thanks, Sinclair for all the help you provided. A VACATION Planner's DREAM- where else could you find advice on where to stay, what do see and do, how to get there, what to bring/not to bring, what to join in/what to stay away from, and a host of other questions at the best cost of all-FREE? And all from folks who for the most part won't laugh in your face when you ask dumb-sounding questions :) A History of Abaco-see all the past messages and trip reports, link all the places together, give you pre/post pictures of this place called Abaco. An INFORMATION CENTER- find out all the up-to-date goings on in Abaco right now. Whether you live in Abaco, visit there, or think about going there, were involved in relief efforts, or watched from afar -whatever, the board provides that information at the tap of the keys or the click of the mouse. You can find out all sorts of things. A WACKY-NOT SO SERIOUS side- this you can choose to read or not, but it shows the funny sides of folks- sometimes humor is the best medicine. Taken with a grain of "salt!" The Many Faces of the Board show us the many faces of this tiny group of islands and cays that are loved by so many- for so many different reasons. IMHO- It is like going to church..Sometimes it makes you feel good, sometimes it makes you mad, sometimes it makes you sad, sometimes you learn something, sometimes you think you know more about it than anyone else there, sometimes it moves you to do more, sometimes you enjoy it, sometimes you hate it, but nevertheless, you take what you want and leave the rest. This message board/bored is invaluable for lots of different reasons! Humbly submitted, by the (sometimes not so humble) Preacher's Spouse. Sandra
