I can't comment on most of your request, but it seems that Marsh Harbour may be what you're looking for. It has most of the convieniences of big cities like well stocked groceries, cable TV, and internet access, but is a very safe place-think 1950's USA with the same small town sense of community. I have never felt even vaguely threatened with my wife and tenage daughter. I've been to Bimini twice, and althought I really enjoyed it, Abaco seems to be cleaner with more class. Suggest you plan a week in Abaco to check it out. Hope this helps.
