I used Island Express last year (going only) and was totally put off. They were also late and my flight was suppose to be non stop to Eluthera; however, we incurred an additional stop, as you did. I requested refund and took another airlines back to Miami after my stay in the Bahamas. I've still to receive my refund!
I would tell all not to use Island Express.
