Good Advice here. Only you know what you're looking for, what you want in a vacation. We liked the relative seclusion of a rental cottage on Guana, which was within easy walking distance to Nippers (and the settlement), but surrounded by foliage, and beautiful views enough to feel like we were "away from it all." Unavailability of phones (they ARE there, just not convenient enough for the office to be able to reach you!) was our definition of being able to "get away." But that may not be acceptable to everyone (and Guana does have phones, if you need them!).

Although Floyd has changed things since this summer, I do believe there are still at least two restaurants (Nipper's, Coco Paradise, plus meals at Guana Seaside Village and Dolphin Beach Resort), and more than one "inn" (Coco Paradise, Dolphin Beach, Guana Seaside)--plus numerous cottages available for rent, including smaller ones that are appropriate for a couple or small family.
Also more than one gift shop (Milo's, Tom's, not including what Dolphin Beach or Guana Seaside may have, since we didn't make it to either of them).

We rented a boat, so enjoyed eating at several restuarants on the other cays. They're all charming and wonderful in their own way.
