Hi! In response to your request for info, I am in St. Thomas. I check this board because as a tennager, I spent many summer vacations at the Aberg Cottage in Elbow Cay..days of Quakenbush's, Elbow Cay Club, Floosie Mae and Vernon's breads..oops forgot the Fin-n-Tonic, where the parents use to go! Anyway, St. Thomas is fine, tho still very gusty and rain squalls still moving through. St. Croiz received realtively minor damage considering the size of storm. Some roofs gone, lots of coastal damage and sunk boats. Power is on in Christiansted, phones are up for the most part, but a curfew is still in effect from 4pm-7am. All hotels in St. Criox survived with minor flooding, no structual damage and the entire VI, including BVI are/will be up and running by tomorrow. St. thomas airport opening and closing, depending on wind gust. What I am hearing from St. Maarten is damage, but not catastrophic..Thank goodness. lenny is now down to 75 mph and just meandering between St. Kitts and Antigua. Islands throughout the Caribbean chain have reported much damage to there docks, piers and coastal roads and properties, due to the high (20-30') seas from Lenny. We were VERY LUCKY and our heartfelt thoughts go out to the people of the Bahamas...we have been there, and know what you are going through.
