I can speak for Scotland Cay as of the end of October. The native population seems to be pretty hard hit. I have seen no hummingbirds on our island. The bananna quits gathered around our feeder in the largest numbers I have ever seen - 30 or more at a time. Migrating warblers were also vying for position at my feeder. Elsewhere on the island, I saw a few mockers, reduced numbers of smooth-billed ani. The red-legged thrush were very visible. All seemed hungry. I have only seen 3 black faced grass quits and few ground doves. We had several least grebes - I saw one since the storm. We also had a family of Gallinules - gone now. We don't have parrots on our island, so I have no idea how they fared. All and all the storm severly impacted our native bird population on Scotland Cay and left little cover for winter visitors. I pray for a fast recovery of the natural habitat - the negative impact development is having on the habitat is more than enough.
